In a dynamic and knowledge-based society, these competencies are vital for any citizen in order to attain personal, economic or social goals.
In proclaiming the year 2009 to be the European Year of Creativity and Innovation (subsequently referred to as EYCI2009), the European Union wants to sensitise its citizens to the varied meanings of these two concepts.
The Republic of Austria welcomes and supports this European initiative. Along the lines of the year 2009 a row of activities fostering creativity and innovation is already planned. The website www.kreativinnovativ09.at will guide you through this themed year and provides you with up-to-date information about events, projects, and the latest developments in Austria and Europe in the context of the EYCI2009.
